PEOPLE
Elizabeth Hutchinson
Elizabeth Hutchinson is a landscape designer and horticulturist whose work is grounded in a deep love of plants and the ways they shape our experience of place. She believes gardens bring qualities built form alone cannot, cooling spaces, filtering light, creating shelter and connecting people to the natural world.

Her background in horticulture and multidisciplinary design informs a strong sensitivity to texture, composition and materiality. She creates layered palettes where planting and natural materials work together, drawn to enduring, tactile materials and uniquely considered combinations.

With years designing within leading landscape studios, Elizabeth approaches gardens as living systems that deepen over time. Her work often begins with what already exists, using mature trees, planting and the character of a site as a framework. She is particularly interested in the sense of envelopment a garden can create, and the subtle ways planting influences mood, temperature and everyday life.
Olaf Isaachsen
Olaf Isaachsen is a landscape architect whose background in landscape management and installation gives him a grounded understanding of how landscapes are built, inhabited and cared for over time. His experience spans private gardens, multi residential, commercial, high rise and public realm projects.

Working across design and construction has shaped a practical approach and an appreciation for the relationship between detail, materiality and long term performance. He is particularly interested in landscapes that support community life, strengthen connections to place and contribute positively to their surroundings.

Olaf sees landscape architecture as an opportunity to create lasting places that bring joy and wellbeing to everyday life. Combining thoughtful design with a strong understanding of delivery, his work balances ecological value with human experience while remaining responsive to site, client and community.

Every project is different, and so is the level of support required. We can work with a project from the first ideas through to documentation, procurement, construction and final plant placement, or step in where needed.
We find our involvement is most valuable when it continues through delivery. Plant procurement and on site placement are an important part of our practice. We source from specialist growers across Australia, selecting plants for their species, cultivar, form and suitability to each garden.

The drawings provide the framework, but much of a garden comes together on site, with the plants themselves. This is where texture, seasonality and character are worked through more intuitively, and where each garden begins to feel like its own.
